I've been using this one quite often on the Galaxy S26 Plus. You just plug in a USB cable, and among the options such as charging or file transfer, you can choose "Webcam." This turns your Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus into a PC webcam.
It's perfect for desktop PC users who don't want to buy an external webcam or just can't find the thing when they need it (guilty!).
Samsung brought this option to the S26 family, and now it's available on the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8, baked into the new One UI 9 software.

While Samsung brought this feature to the Galaxy S26 earlier this year, Google did it much earlier with the Android 14 back in 2023.
What's interesting is that Samsung was actually this late to the party.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 didn't have this feature when they launched, and they will most likely need to wait for the One UI 9 update to get it.
You might think that it's a minuscule update that doesn't make such a difference, but with a foldable, it's much more useful than on a candy bar phone.

Thing is, foldables can… well, fold. They can also fold in half, and you can put them on your desk or move them around easily without the need for a kickstand.
The feature is plug-and-play and can make webcams obsolete. I wonder what took smartphone manufacturers so long to bring this one to the public.
