Samsung's Galaxy S27 series development is already moving into its next phase. While the upcoming Galaxy S flagships aren't expected to launch until early 2027, fresh regulatory filings show one of the most important hardware features of the first-ever Pro model has already made its way through the certification process.

SammyGuru's team has managed to obtain details from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification platform, giving us the first concrete evidence that the Galaxy S27 Pro is actively moving toward production.
As you can see from the above image, the device's model name (SM-S957) isn't explicitly listed in the the regulatory entry, but it does show the exact model number of the battery: EB-BS957CBY.
Unfortunately, the precise battery specs of the Galaxy S27 Pro aren't revealed in the BIS listing. It only gives us the explicit proof that the phone's development is moving forward.
To clarify, BIS certification is usually obtained between four and six months before a phone's announcement. This places the filing right on schedule for an early 2027 announcement.

Details of the Galaxy S27 Pro's battery capacity may be inaccessible from the regulatory filing, but we already have a pretty good idea of the upcoming flagship's battery capacity. Leaks that first emerged nearly two months ago suggested the Samsung phone might feature 5,200mAh under the hood.
On September 5, 2026, leaker Anvin provided additional battery details on X, reportedly taken directly from China's 3C certification database. According to the entry, the upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro may match the S27 Ultra's charging speeds, supporting up to 60W.

Beyond the battery, the Galaxy S27 Pro could feature a 6.47-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, Samsung's M16 OLED technology, and possibly even the Privacy Display tech that debuted on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

As I mentioned, the Galaxy S27 Ultra may not be the only device featuring a Privacy Display next year. Recent reports indicate the Galaxy S27 Pro may obtain the same technology, possibly setting it apart from the Galaxy S27 and S27+.
Now, I'm not saying any of this is set in stone. But let's suppose the Privacy Display does debut on the Pro model and it also gets 60W charging, just like the Ultra. If so, it could mean that Samsung is aiming to clearly distinguish its “Pro-level” flagships from the other two models.

5,200mAh sounds good, but is it enough?
If the Pro model sports a relatively compact form factor, as is indicated by its rumored 6.47-inch display, while featuring a 5,200mAh battery, that doesn't sound too bad.
However, I'm somewhat reserved. Sure, Samsung may bend over backwards to ensure the 5,200mAh cell impresses more in real life than it does on paper. Still, the company could have done more here, especially if it wants to truly set the Pro and Ultra models apart from the rest.
