Unless you're adamant on picking up Verizon's version of the Apple iPhone 4 just because of Big Red's solid network, you'll probably want to reconsider if you decide on going through the no-contract route.
Granted that Verizon will be matching AT&T in terms of subsidized pricing for the venerable smartphone, at $199.99 for the 16GB version and $299.99 for the 32GB one, we find different structures regarding their phone-only prices. Specifically, Verizon will appear to sell the 16GB and 32GB version of the smartphone at the no-contract price of $649.99 and $749.99 respectively.
Naturally, that's a $50 premium over what AT&T is offering their customers, but some speculate that it has something to do with the cost of making the CDMA iPhone 4.
