The number one reason customers buy the OnePlus 3 is Dash Charge

The OnePlus 3 is a pretty solid device priced competitively. But it's not the hardware inside the smartphone that make people buy it, it's a certain technology developed in-house by the Chinese company.

This is the third flagship smartphone launched by OnePlus, but rumor has it the company plans to release yet another powerful device in the next couple of weeks, the so-called OnePlus 3T.

The OnePlus 3 is equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage, but none of these are the number one reason people buy the phone. Not even the 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution, or the 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and OIS (optical image stabilization).

In a recent interview, OnePlus' co-founder Carl Pei confirmed that according to his company's surveys, it's the Dash Charge technology that drives people to purchase the OnePlus 3.
