Samsung “Omnia W” is expected to employ a 1.4GHz CPU and NFC support?

With summer finally coasting to a finish and the onset of fall being right around the corner, the arrival of the new season signals something good coming down in the pipelines with Windows Phone 7. As we’re all aware by now, Mango is expected to arrive to breathe fresh life into the mobile platform, but equally so, newer devices are expected to arrive as well.

For those eager to find word about Samsung’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 offerings, we’re hearing some news regarding the Samsung Omnia W. Specifically, SamFirmware is reporting that the Omnia W is going to be featuring a 1.4GHz processor and support for NFC. Even though it’s not confirmed, the news actually supplements the handset’s previous speculations of featuring a 3.7” display, 512MB of RAM, and a 5-megapixel camera.

Clearly, the 1.4GHz processor is indeed eye-catching amongst its specs and might prove enough to become a decent successor to the Samsung Omnia 7 from last year. As we get closer to fall, we have no doubt we’ll be getting to know this phone a bit more.
