Samsung Galaxy S5 Active (AT&T variant) apparently revealed in video

We may have the very first look at the unannounced Samsung Galaxy S5 Active - thanks to a video posted on YouTube hours ago. This alleged S5 Active looks more rugged than the regular S5, and yet it seems to have a similar rear camera, as well as a heart-rate sensor.

According to the guy presenting it, the smartphone has a “very crisp display” that’s “not 1080p”, but “above that.” Could it be Quad HD (1,440 x 2,560)? We’re doubtful, as that’s supposed to be reserved for the Galaxy S5 Prime.

It doesn’t look like the S5 Active has a fingerprint scanner. That’s because it uses the same hardware buttons (three of them) as the S4 Active from last year, instead of having just one home button as the regular S5. The handset that appears in the video has the model number SM-G870A (which was already linked to the Galaxy S5 Active), and seems to be made for AT&T.

Since it often happens that videos showing unannounced products are quickly taken down, we included a gallery with snapshots after it:

There is no word on when Samsung intends to announce the Galaxy S5 Active, but it could happen pretty soon. We’ll be here to keep you updated anyway.
