Results: Face ID doesn't exactly have a full vote of confidence

When Apple revealed its newest iPhone — the iPhone X — together with its complete lack of a fingerprint reader and the new face-scanning Face ID to take its place, eyebrows were raised and shoulders were shrugged. Apple insisted that the new biometric scanner is ultimately more convenient and very secure — there's a one in a million chance that there's a random person somewhere in the world who can unlock your phone with their face, Apple said.

Fair enough, we thought. But what if we are not looking for a random person, but actually try and replicate a particular face and try to break into their iPhone X? We've seen such tests — using twins, masks, and other attempts to trick Face ID. And some have, allegedly, succeeded.

All that said, we do recall a time when hackers were also spoofing the Touch ID fingerprint scanner by making dummy fingers to trick it. Sure, if an evil-doer has the time, know-how, and resources, no phone is 100% safe. But, being the new kid on the block, we thought we'd ask you what you think of Face ID. Here's how that poll went:
