Boy, that Motorola Kore doohickey sure got everyone's imagination going out of control. Well, as much as we were hoping for it to be a successor to the Motorola XOOM powered by a quad-core processor and boasting near space-age hardware specs, it turns out that the Kore is not going to be a tablet at all. The truth surfaced in the form of a patent filing with the USPTO, which indicates that Motorola is working on a portable media player that will double as a digital fitness assistant, and that is the device which the Kore moniker is reserved for.

Still, that doesn't necessarily mean that a Motorola XOOM 2 or whatever is not in the company's agenda. It is probably only a matter of time until the rumor mill strikes again and leaks regarding a successor to the XOOM start circulating the web. In case if you are interested in seeing what the Kore media player will likely look like, here are a few photos that might just be of the real deal.
