The Android-powered HTC Wildfire S which just recently became official for T-Mobile has successfully passed through the FCC again this time sporting CDMA bands.
The HTC Wildfire S is a mid-range Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone that features a 3.2-inch capacitive display. Running the show behind the scenes is a single-core 600 MHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. Perched on the back of the handset is a 5 megapixel camera with an LED flash.
Given the CDMA nature of this device it is possible we could see it on Verizon or Sprint. However, some leaked roadmaps show that the Wildfire S may be destined for US Cellular this coming October. Moreover, it could also find a home with one of the prepaid carriers such as Virgin Mobile.
No other announcements have been made regarding the HTC Wildfire S other than the one for T-Mobile. If the increasingly large smartphones of today aren’t at all appealing to you then maybe this little guy will appeal to you. If that’s the case then keep your eyes open for any further news.
