Despite the fact that smartwatch global sales have dropped considerably, Samsung continues to focus on wearables. The South Korean company recently launched a new smartwatch, the Gear Sport, and a fitness band, the Gear Fit2 Pro.

That's a big opportunity for retailers to start discounting Samsung's previous generation of smartwatches and fitness bands. Verizon is one of the first US carriers to discount one of Samsung's wearable devices, the Gear Fit2.

Usually, the fitness band sells for $180, but for a limited time, customers can pick this one up for just $90, so they'll be saving no less than 50% when they purchase the Gear Fit2.

Samsung's Gear Fit2 wearable device offers advanced fitness tracking with built-in GPS, along with up to four-day battery life and 4GB storage. The fitness band features a curved 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display and IP68 certification, which makes it water-resistant.

The Gear Fit2 should be fully compatible with most Android devices, thus allowing users to respond calls, texts and more when their phone is within Bluetooth range.
