Video stabilization has been a marquee feature of flagship phones: more affordable devices simply don't get it and video that's recorded on such phones - even in 4K - looks terribly jittery and often borders with the unusable.

That's why we look at two of the best phones out there: the Apple iPhone 8 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to see which one does better in terms of video stabilization.

Both phones support a dual camera system on their back with a main, wide-angle camera and a secondary, tentatively called 'telephoto' lens that allows a 2x optical zoom. The main camera on both has optical image stabilization (OIS), while the secondary tele lens only has OIS on the Note 8.
