Acer ICONIA TAB A100 Hands-on

Naturally, things have changed tremendously since we first grasped the Acer ICONIA TAB A100 back at MWC 2011, but now it’s here in the flesh and looking for some action being an Android 3.2 Honeycomb powered tablet out of the box.

Boasting that compact form factor thanks to its 7” display (600 x 1024), the Acer ICONIA TAB A100 shares some similarities with its larger sibling – the ICONIA TAB A500. However, we do agree that it strangely feels more solid with its glossy plastic shell – plus, we do like the neat looking design of the rear. Now don’t go thinking that Acer is going to be skimping out on ports, especially when it’s able to pack in things like a microHDMI port, dock connector port, and a microUSB port. 

Looks are one thing, but it’s filled to the brim with some of the usual set of hardware we find with other comparable tablets – like a 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash, front-facing 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, and Wi-Fi. And to top it off, it’s packing Android 3.2 Honeycomb out of the box, which makes it one of the few to sport it.
